Low Profile 5.5 White Polishing Pads allow the Porter Cable 7424XP Polisher to work more efficently with the correct speed and motion to break down polishes more effectively. These smaller, lighter pads maximize the polishing power of the Porter Cable 7424XP!
The Porter Cable 7424XP is a dual action polisher, which means that it spins and orbits at the same time. This oscillating motion is what makes the Porter Cable 7424XP so effective for polishing paint. The Porter Cable 7424XP is a precision instrument that works best when the machine, backing plate and pad are all in perfect balance. Using pads that are too large tend to bog down the polisher and decrease its effectiveness. Pads no larger than 6.5 inch are generally recommended for the Porter Cable 7424XP. However smaller pads, such as the 5.5 inch Low Profile Polishing Pads, can produce excellent results. Compact pads allow the polisher to work at its intended speed and motion, without getting bogged down.
These White 5.5 inch Dual Action Polishing Pads are made of the same closed cell, white polishing foam as the 6.5, 7.5, and 8.5 inch pads foam pads from Lake Country. This closed-cell, polishing foam gives products such as finishing polishes and prewax cleaners the added polishing ability to smooth and shine the paint before the application of a wax or sealant.
Low Profile 5.5 inch White Polishing Pads glide smoothly and efficiently over the paint and polishes break down with greater ease. Because there is less foam between the backing plate and the paint, some detailers find that the added speed and friction of the pad allow polishes to break down more easily. The Porter Cable 7424XP is still the safest machine polisher that you can use, even with thinner foam pads.
Low Profile 5.5 inch Polishing Pads have high quality hook & loop backing that covers the entire back of the foam pad, from edge to edge. This is to hold the foam pad to the backing plate securely while polishing. We recomend using Dual-Action 5 Inch Flexible Backing Plate with 5.5 Inch Low Profile Polishing Pads.
These Dual Action 5.5 inch White Polishing Pads are very easy to maintain. Mix 1 scoop of DP Polishing Pad Rejuvenator in 3-4 gallons of water and let the pads soak for up to 15 minutes. Use a Foam Pad Conditioning Brush to agitate the pads while they soak. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and let pads air dry.
Use 5.5 Inch Low Profile White Polishing Pads with cleaner waxes, prewax cleaners, finishing polishes and very light swirl removers for a smooth, glossy, beautiful paint finish.
