|Clear Inline Hose Filter Canister|
The secret to complete water spot prevention!
Water spots are one of the most common surface problems detailers face – and one of the most preventable. We’ll tell you how…
Water spots are caused by minerals found within every drop of water. The main offenders are calcium and magnesium. They can harden in the pipes and cause scale, and they can etch the surface of your vehicle. Water that contains significant amounts of calcium and magnesium is called “hard water”. Hard water spots are permanent and can only be removed by polishing.
If you could filter the minerals out of the water before it hits your vehicle, you could prevent the water spots. It’s easier and more practical than you think. Get a Clear Inline Hose Filter and you can PREVENT WATER SPOTS.
The Clear Inline Hose Filter Canister is an inline filter that connects between two hoses. By inserting a water softener cartridge into the unit, you can remove the minerals that cause hard water before it reaches your vehicle. Once installed, the Clear Inline Hose Filter requires no extra effort on your part to have clean, softened water to wash your vehicle!
Here’s how it works:
The Water Softener Filter Cartridge replaces calcium and magnesium ions with sodium ions as the water passes through the filter. This “softens” the water. This process actually changes the texture of the water, making it feel slippery. When you wash your vehicle, your favorite car shampoo will lather better and the rinse water will sheet off your vehicle, leaving no water spots. This cartridge can be renewed and reused many times. See the bottom of the page for details.
Hard water isn’t the only threat to your paint. Sediment also plays a role in micro-marring. Sediment is rust, sand, and debris that enters the water line and is expelled through your Inline hose. Sediment is filtered at your local water treatment plant but a break in any pipe connected to your water supply can let more sediment in. Sediment is the reason your household faucets all have built-in screens. But there is an easy solution…
The Sediment Filter Cartridge grabs debris as the water passes through the filter unit. The filter cartridge is made of 25 micron spun poly that catches the finest dirt before it hits your vehicle. With the Clear Inline Hose Filter, you can watch the filter work. You’ll never go back to unfiltered water once you see what was in your water supply!
The Clear Inline Hose Filter Canister is made of heavy duty plastic with metal hose adapter fittings. The unit comes with a mounting bracket and wrench. You will need an incoming hose and an outgoing hose for a single filter installation.
The Clear Inline Hose Filter Canister can be neatly mounted to a hose storage bin or a wall nearby the spigot. When you need to change the filter cartridge, use the wrench to unscrew the filter canister from the top of the unit.
If your water is hard or full of sediment, the Clear Inline Hose Filter Canister is a practical and inexpensive way to ensure that the water that hits your vehicle is soft, filtered, and clean. In the long run, you’ll have to polish less due to water spots and your paint finish will remain smooth and shiny.
The Clear Inline Hose Filter Canister includes:
Mounting adapter and screws
Each cartridge is sold separately.

If you have hard water and sediment (which is often the case with well water) check out this two-part filtration system. This set-up requires two hose filters, two 2 ft. hoses, a water softener cartridge, a sediment cartridge, and a 2 lb. bag of water softener rejuvenator tablets.
You can buy all these pieces a la carte, or you can get the Deluxe Filter System. This kit contains everything you see in the picture (minus an outgoing water hose).
3 ft. Water Hose – You will need two hoses for a single unit installation; one to connect the spigot to the unit and one to carry water away from the unit. This 2 ft hose is perfect for connecting the spigot and filter unit. Its small size makes the installation look neat and organized by eliminating any unnecessary hose length. Get two 2 ft. hoses for a two-stage filtration system.
2 ft. Water Hose - If you opt for a two part filter system or depending on where you mount the filter unit, this 2 ft. hose may suit your needs. We recommend using this hose to connect two Clear Inline Hose Filters, but you can also use it to connect the filter to the spigot if the unit will be mounted close by.
2 lb. Filter Rejuvenating Tablets – The water softener cartridge can be recharged and reused by replacing the minerals that have accumulated in the used cartridge. Pour the tablets into a plastic dishpan or bucket. Use enough to cover the bottom of the bucket and then cover the tablets with water. Soak the water softener cartridge overnight. The tablets work by replacing the calcium and magnesium ions with sodium. After 12 hours of soaking, the cartridge will be just like new.
The longevity of one water softener cartridge depends on the hardness of the water. Keep extra softener tablets on hand and an additional softener cartridge. This way, you can have one cartridge recharging while you use the other (it won’t hurt the cartridge to leave it soaking indefinitely). By rotating two water softener cartridges, you’ll have an endless supply of clean, softened water.
