Wheels really take a beating. Brake dust is generated every time you drive. This dust accumulates to a thick later in just a few days. While brake dust comes off relatively easily with soapy water and a sponge, it may actually leave minute scratches on alloy wheels. Over time, wheels will lose their metallic gleam. Not to mention those unsightly scrapes you get from cutting corners too close. When cleaning isn’t enough to make your wheels shine, the only option may be repainting. Wurst makes it easy with their Silver Lacquer Paint.
Wurst Silver Lacquer Paint is formulated to perfectly match the shade of silver used by German auto manufacturers. Made in Germany, this touch-up paint is sold throughout Europe to manage the damage caused by the excessive brake dust produced by German cars. Now this product has found its way to the U.S. to touch up German imports. If you have a German vehicle, Wurst Silver Lacquer Paint should be in your garage. Wurth comes in a fine aerosol formula that coats evenly without globs or spatter. To apply to the whole wheel, it may be helpful to remove the wheel from your vehicle. Or just tape off the surrounding tire. After all, this is paint. Thoroughly clean and degrease the wheel with Wurth Clean-Solve, or another quality degreaser. Dry the wheel completely. Spray lightly across the wheel back and forth, until it is covered. Do not apply a heavy coat and do not hold the can still. After 30 minutes, apply another light coat. Follow with Wurth High Gloss Lacquer Spray.
For spot touch-ups, clean and degrease the wheel. Lightly sand the scuff and wipe away any dust. Spray the scuff with several light coats, allowing 30 minutes of drying between coats. Pass the can over the scuff; do not spray the scuff directly. If you apply too much at once, the paint will run. Follow with Wurth High Gloss Lacquer Spray over the whole wheel for uniform shine.
Wheels for imports are not cheap. Don’t replace scratched and scuffed wheels when you can just repaint them with Wurth Silver LacquerSpray Paint, formulated specifically for German alloy wheels.
To protect your wheels from the ravages of brake dust, apply a coat of Wheel Wax. It seals and protects your wheels much like wax protects your paint.
