Since orange is a detailer’s favorite color, we’re offering this 6 pack of Low Profile Orange 5.5 inch Pads. Take note, these are 5.5 inch pads. They are 1 inch smaller in diameter and ¼ inch thinner than the standard 6.5 inch pads. Otherwise, its virtually the same pad. The 5.5 inch pads remove light to moderate scratches and swirls as well as a larger pad and the foam is the same density. In fact, it’s the same foam found in the larger Lake Country pads.
Some people even prefer the 5.5 inch pad when working with the Porter Cable 7424 DA polisher. The pad is less bulky and slightly lighter than the 6.5 inch pad, so some detailers say the polisher feels more agile.
The 5.5 inch pads are excellent for working problem areas. Correct isolated scratches without polishing the rest of the paint unnecessarily.
Use the Low Profile 5.5 inch Orange Pads with the 5 inch backing plate on your Porter Cable. The backing plate has a recessed, flexible edge to prevent contact with the paint as you polish. For the best results, keep the pad flat on the paint as you polish.
