The Metabo is a rotary polisher, also called a circular polisher or a high speed polisher. A rotary polisher spins the pad at a high speed, which creates enough heat and friction to level paint and remove oxidation. For this reason, more professional detailers use a rotary for paint correction.

As with all rotary polishers, there is a risk of burning the paint with the Metabo. To avoid damaging the paint, keep the polisher moving at all times. Start off at a slow speed and only increase speed if necessary and if you are comfortable in doing so. Only apply enough pressure to keep the pad in contact with the paint. Take care to avoid digging the edge of the pad into the paint at an angle.
