The Meguiars W64 Soft Buff Rotary 5 Inch Backing Plate is designed with a patented self-centering system that keeps the pad balanced throughout the polishing process. The molded plastic construction remains rigid; it will not become warped or bent with repeated uses. The underside of the Meguiars W64 Soft Buff Rotary 5 Inch Backing Plate is fitted with a thick cushion of urethane that absorbs some of the heat generated by circular polishers. Since the heat is not transferred to the paint, the Meguiars W64 Soft Buff Rotary 5 Inch Backing Plate minimizes the risk of burning. The urethane is permanently adhered to Velcro® brand fasteners to prevent separation problems.
Use 6.5 inch pads with this 5 inch backing plate. It fits all rotary buffers with a 5/8 inch diameter shaft.
