Meguiars M8632 Solo Cut & Polish Cream #86 is part of the Meguiars Solo One-Liquid System, a professional system for both compounding and polishing that combines a single polish with cutting-edge tools designed to produce swirl-free, world class results.
Meguiars Solo System was developed for body shop professionals in search of a simple polishing process for removing wet-sanding scratches and creating flawless shine. The current practice in body shops is a multi-step, multi-liquid polishing process. The Solo System means you use the Cut & Polish Liquid for the first step compounding (removing sanding marks) and you use the same liquid for the second step polishing (removing the swirl marks.) You simply switch pads between steps. The Solo One-Liquid process eliminates cross-contamination of compounds, experimentation with multiple products, and ultimately saves time.
Meguiars M8632 Solo Cut & Polish Cream #86 features Unigrit Technology. “Unigrit" is a feature that describes the size and distribution of the particles on Meguiars Unigrit Finishing Paper. With that said, the benefits of "Unigrit" are the uniform marks left behind by the paper. Meguiars incorporated this technology into their Solo polish. "Unigrit" refers to the mechanical particles in Meguiars M8632 Solo Cut & Polish Cream #86, which is a very unique type of aluminum oxide. It is very uniform in shape, size and hardness. This makes them "Unigrit," allowing a very "level" cutting action.
The abrasives in Meguiars M8632 Solo Cut & Polish Cream #86 do diminish in size, but they do so much more slowly than Meguiars “diminishing abrasive” polishes. Cut & Polish Cream cuts longer and eventually breaks down. The tiny, uniform particles provide even, level results because all the abrasives break down at the same pace. This creates a higher gloss in the polishing stage.
Meguiars M8632 Solo Cut & Polish Cream #86 is a professional polish designed for use with a rotary polisher. As with all Meguiars Mirror Glaze polishes, Meguiars M8632 Solo Cut & Polish Cream #86 contains no fillers or silicones. It is body shop safe and paintable.

Compounding
- Work on a properly cured paint surface. Set rotary speed to 1800-2000 RPM. Choose the Solo Wool Light Cutting Pad or Foam Polishing Pad.. Mist dry pads with Meguiars Final Inspection for lubrication.
- Apply Meguiars Solo Cut & Polish Cream #86 directly to the paint and work in a 2 x 2 sq. ft. area. Keep the polisher moving at all times.
- Check work frequently. When the defects are gone, stop polishing and lift the polisher off the paint.
- Buff with a soft, clean Cobra Microfiber Detailing Cloth.
Final Polishing
- Set rotary to 1400-1800 RPM. Use the Solo Diamond Foam Polishing Pad or Diamond Foam Finishing Pad. Prime dry pads with Meguiars Final Inspection.
- Apply Meguiars Solo Cut & Polish Cream #86 directly to the paint and work in a 2 x 2 sq. ft. area. Keep the polisher moving at all times.
- Check work frequently. When the defects are gone, stop polishing and lift the polisher off the paint.
- Buff with a soft, clean Cobra Microfiber Detailing Cloth.
