  Clean and shine your boat with this polish designed especially for fiberglass!
Fiberglass boats have an outer gel coat to give the boat its slickness and shine. This coat is much like the clear coat on your vehicle, except the gel coat is in nearly constant contact with water-borne debris and organisms. Boat manufacturers recommend polishing your boat regularly to remove contaminants in order to prevent oxidation. If oxidation gets severe enough, you’ll have to refinish the hull. A little maintenance now can save you a lot of money in the future!
Meguiar’s #45 Marine/RV Polish is designed especially for gel coats. These coats are found on fiberglass boats and RVs. This polish is designed to gently penetrate the pores of the gel coat to remove contaminants and infuse the coat with nourishing oils. The oils give the fiberglass a slick shine and brighten the paint. Light oxidation will disappear as the original condition of the fiberglass reemerges.
Meguiar’s #45 Marine/RV Polish delivers the most impressive results on dark colored boats and RVs. The colors may be obscured by the chalky oxidation. Once polished, the gel coat will be bright and shiny. Regular polishing will maintain the color and prevent future oxidation.
Apply #45 Marine/RV Polish with a machine polisher, like the Porter Cable 7424, for best results. Use a white polishing pad and work at a speed between 3000-4000 OPM, or 1000-1200 RPM on an orbital polisher. When the polish starts to dry, turn off the machine and buff away the haze with a microfiber towel. Clean up your used pads and towels in a solution of DP Polishing Pad Rejuvenator and water. The strong citrus cleaner will release polish from foam and microfiber to prolong the life of your detailing tools.
