Correct tire pressure is vital to safe driving. Over inflation makes tires more prone to blowouts and punctures, while under inflation throws off your tires’ alignment. Correctly inflating your tires once is not enough to keep them at the right pressure, even if you haven’t had a puncture. Climate causes air to shrink and expand, which can make your tires dangerously full or too slack. Your tires lose 1 pound of pressure for every 10 degrees the temperature drops during the winter. Kleen Wheels Tire Check is a valve cap that indicates if your tire is in need of air with a red flag. Tire Check replaces your old valve cap. Just screw it on. Normally you will see a green button under the clear protective dome. When the tire pressure drops 2-3 psi (pounds per square inch) or more, a red flag will pop out of the green button. Fill your tire at your earliest convenience. Tire Check will automatically reset itself to the new pressure.
