1. Don’t Use Bleach or Fabric Softeners. If you want to wash your microfiber towels in the washing machine, use only a mild detergent that does not contain bleach. Fabric softeners and bleach will both eliminate the static charges that make your microfiber so effective at what it does. Without the static, your microfiber towel might as well be used to dry your dishes. Avoid using harsh detergents and your microfibers should last indefinitely.
