Lake Country Foamed Wool 6.5 inch Buffing/Polishing Pads feature patented nanofoam particles that encapsulate the base of the wool fibers to help prevent caking and matting. These hybrid pads polish like a wool pad but finish like a foam pad, simplifying the buffing process by decreasing the variety of pads needed to polish your vehicle's paint.
Natural wool pads have a reputation of becoming frayed, matted, shedding lint. This deterioration of wool pads results in less of a cushion barrier between the buffer and the paint surface. Also, the risk of scratching the paint is increased when matted wool pads are used.
Foamed Wool pads encapsulated in nanofoam particles give you results like you’ve never seen before with a conventional wool pad. By incorporating the modern technology of foam, Lake Country brings the wool pad up to a whole new level of performance.
Foamed Wool from Lake Country uses a patented process whereby microscopic polyfoam particles encapsulate the base of the wool pad. The Foamed Wool is tighter and denser than regular wool pads. This enables these pads to stand up to the stress of polishing better than regular wool pads with less caking and matting. The encapsulation process used when manufacturing Foamed Wool Pads locks the lambswool fbers into place to significantly reduce linting. The vehicle's paint surface will stay cleaner as you use your polisher and there will be less mess to clean up when you’re finished polishing.
Tiny air pockets are created at the base of the wool fibers that improve the pad cushioning and the retention of liquids such as compounds and polishes. In the same way that foam cells absorb products, these tiny air pockets retain products so none is wasted.
When it comes to performance, Foamed Wool 6.5 inch Buffing/Polishing Pads are capable of removing 1500 grit scratches, leaving behind a smooth surface with minimal, if any, compounding swirls. Foamed Wool Pads finish more like a foam pad than a wool pad so you'll have less finishing work to do to get a perfect, swirl-free shine.
Foamed Wool Pads can be used with dual action and circular (rotary) polishers. We recommend the 6 inch Hook & Loop Rotary Flexible Backing Plate or Dual Action Hook & Loop Flexible 6 inch Backing Plate for this 6.5 inch pad.
To clean Foamed Wool Pads, dissolve 1 scoop of DP Polishing Pad Rejuvenator in 3-4 gallons of water. Soak used pads for up to 15 minutes and use a brush to agitate if needed. Rinse with clean water and air dry face down to allow the water to drain away from the hook & loop backing.
