Finish Kare SIRR Steel, Iron Rust Remover/ Acid Based Cleaner is step two in the Finish Kare Paint Decontamination System. The goal of this system is to remove environmental contaminants that washing and claying cannot remove, to create the cleanest, healthiest paint. Once you've used step one to remove surface contaminants, use Finish Kare SIRR Steel, Iron Rust Remover/ Acid Based Cleaner to penetrate into the paint's sub-layers, extracting ferrous particles and chemicals. This product goes deeper and cleans better than washing or claying.
Airborne chemical compounds and ferrous particles - particles containing iron - actually penetrate the paint and create corrosive compounds that eat deep into the paint's sub-layers. Washing and claying only remove the evidence on the surface, not the damage being done to the paint's sub-layers. The Finish Kare Paint Decontamination System cleans the surface and sub-layers to deliver a clean, glassy smooth finish.
Finish Kare SIRR Steel, Iron Rust Remover/ Acid Based Cleaner is step two of the process. It penetrates below the surface and opens up the paint's pores to release ferrous particles and to neutralize caustic compounds that have developed in the paint's sub-layers. These metals and compounds must be removed to prevent ongoing paint damage. Even if you can't see the damage yet, you will in time. Finish Kare SIRR Steel, Iron Rust Remover/ Acid Based Cleaner prevents this damage before its too late!
To use Finish Kare SIRR Steel, Iron Rust Remover/ Acid Based Cleaner, apply it undiluted to the paint using a wash mitt. (Use a different mitt than the one used for Step 1.) Keep the surface wet. Work in Finish Kare SIRR Steel, Iron Rust Remover for 5-10 minutes using light pressure. Rinse the entire vehicle with cold water. Dry horizontal surfaces and inspect them. Use a cellophane glove or a plastic sandwich bag over your hand to feel for impurities. If paint feels gritty, repeat Step 2.
It is essential to use all four steps of the Finish Kare Paint Decontamination System. The sequence of alkaline, acidic, and neutral cleaners helps counteract the effects of the paint contaminants. You must use all the pieces of the puzzle to get the full benefits.
After cleaning the surface paint with step one of the Finish Kare Paint Decontamination System, use Finish Kare SIRR Steel, Iron Rust Remover/ Acid Based Cleaner to go deeper and clean better than washing or claying. After this step, the paint will be truly clean.
