The Edge 2000 Wave 8 inch Foam Pads have a wavy surface that allows better air circulation between the pad and the paint. This ventilation can reduce heat build-up, which is the primary cause of paint burning.
The wavy texture looks unusual but it offers more protection to your vehicle during the compounding process. It’s no substitute for smart polishing practices so take all the usual precautions when using a rotary polisher.
Even with a reticulated surface, The Edge 2000 Wave 8 inch Foam Pads offer excellent surface contact because the pad has multiple raised “waves”. As the pad spins on the machine, these waves cover the same surface area as a flat pad. You can expect the same fantastic results you’d get from the flat Edge pads.
The Edge 2000 Wave Pads also offer the convenience and ingenious design of the original Edge pads. Each pad is double-sided to give you twice the surface area per pad than a standard one-sided, hook & loop pad. When one side becomes soiled, flip the pad and keep polishing!
Plus, The Edge 2000 Wave Pads use the same Quick Connect Adapter. If you already have one, there’s no need to buy another one. This adapter works with any circular polisher with a 5/8 inch threaded post. Screw the adapter in place and pop a pad on. To release the pad, push the button located on the end of the adapter. It’s that easy!
The Quick Connect System keeps each pad perfectly balanced and centered. Plus, each pad has a beveled edge to give you better maneuverability around curves and corners.

The Edge Yellow Cutting Pad
The yellow pad is a heavy-cut pad used for heavy oxidation and severe swirls and imperfections. It works wonders on older vehicles with neglected paint. Use it to apply a swirl remover or a polishing compound to blend away more severe imperfections. This dense pad has 40 pores per inch.
The Edge Green Medium Cutting Pad
The green pad is a medium-cut pad intended for removing light oxidation and moderate swirls and imperfections. This versatile pad works well with swirl removers and is clear coat safe. This pad has 50 pores per inch.
The Edge Blue Finishing Pad
The blue pad is an everyday, nonabrasive pad for product application. It will apply pre-wax cleaner or wax in a thin coat without abrading the clear coat. Your paint will appear smooth and uniform. This softer pad has 70 pores per inch.
White Ultrafine Finishing Pad
The white pad is ultra smooth and ultra soft. The white pad leaves a bold, crystalline gloss on new and just-detailed vehicles. Apply waxes, sealants, and glazes with the white pad.
We recommend The Edge 2000 Wave 8 inch Foam Pads for a rotary/circular polisher, such as the Makita 9227C. You will need the Quick Connect Adapter (E-206) to connect these pads to your polisher. No backing plate is needed.
