With a wavy surface, these pads allow more air to circulate between the paint surface and the foam. Because heat is able to escape, the pad reduces the possibility of burning the paint. Novice detailers and experts will agree that less heat creates a safer polish.
The Edge 2000 Wave 6 inch Foam Pads have the appearance of an egg crate. Even though the foam has high and low points, the pad provides excellent coverage because of the overlapping rotation of the polisher. The valleys create little pockets of air underneath the foam that dissipate heat generated by the polisher.
In addition to the unique wavy surface, The Edge 2000 Wave 6 inch Foam Pads are double-sided. When one side becomes soiled, simply flip the pad and continue polishing. You get twice the polishing surface in one pad!
The Edge 2000 Wave Pads require no backing plate. Instead, they attach to your dual action polisher with a Quick Connect Adapter. The adapter automatically centers the pad and keeps it perfectly balanced throughout the detailing process. The same adapter will work on any dual action polisher and any size Edge pad. The Edge Yellow Cutting Pad
The yellow pad is a heavy-cut pad used for heavy oxidation and severe swirls and imperfections. It works wonders on older vehicles with neglected paint. Use it to apply a swirl remover or a polishing compound to blend away more severe imperfections. This dense pad has 40 pores per inch.
The Edge Orange Light Cutting Pad
The orange pad is designed to remove light swirls and scratches. It is less aggressive than the green pad, but has more cutting power than the white pad. Start with this pad if your paint is in new or like-new condition overall, with just a few light swirls. Use it with light swirl removers and polishes.
The Edge Green Medium Cutting Pad
The green pad is a medium-cut pad intended for removing light oxidation and moderate swirls and imperfections. This versatile pad works well with swirl removers and is clear coat safe. This pad has 50 pores per inch.
The Edge Blue Finishing Pad
The blue pad is an everyday, nonabrasive pad for product application. It will apply pre-wax cleaner or wax in a thin coat without abrading the clear coat. Your paint will appear smooth and uniform. This softer pad has 70 pores per inch.
White Ultrafine Finishing Pad
The white pad is ultra smooth and ultra soft. The white pad leaves a bold, crystalline gloss on new and just-detailed vehicles. Apply waxes, sealants, and glazes with the white pad.
Red LSP Finishing Pad
The red pad is softer than the white pad, which makes it perfect for new car finishes. Apply last step products, like waxes, sealants and glazes without fear of abrasion. The red pad also makes layering products easier. Apply multiple coats of your favorite wax or sealant with the red lsp foam pad.
We recommend The Edge 2000 Wave 6 inch Foam Pads for a dual action polisher, such as the Porter Cable 7424. You will need the Quick Connect Adapter (E-210) to connect these pads to your polisher. No backing plate is needed.
