The Double Sided Pad Rotary Adapter works like a backing plate, but it centers itself. Because the adapter fits in the middle of double-sided pads, there's no wobbling and much less vibration. This adapter from Lake Country is easy to screw onto the polisher and the pad, and it provides a secure hold during operation.
The Double-sided Pad Rotary Adapter has a 5/8 -11 internal thread which screws onto a rotary polisher. On the other end of the adapter is a short 5/8-11 external thread that attaches to a double-sided pad. It works with any rotary (circular) polisher with a 5/8 -11 threaded spindle.
The Double-sided Pad Rotary Adapter works with Meguiars Double Sided 8 Inch Pads and 3M Superbuff Double Sided 8 Inch Pads. These pads have the specific threading to work with this adapter.
