  Enjoy the water without the water spots!
Mother Nature has a way of leaving her mark on everything manmade. Take boats for example: they’re made for water, yet they have adverse affects to it in the form of hard water spots. Minerals from the water etch the gel coat and create entries for all sorts of debris to penetrate the gel coat, too. Eventually, oxidation will result in a white chalk all over the fiberglass.
Preventing hard water spots isn’t easy. It would require towel drying your boat or RV every time it got wet. Can you imagine towel-drying a boat? Instead, remove water spots regularly with Meguiar’s #47 Hard Water Spot Remover.
Meguiar’s #47 Hard Water Spot Remover removes existing water spots and minerals in order to prevent new spots. It is not a polish or a compound. It breaks down minerals chemically so you do not need to scrub or buff. The formula is thick enough to cling to vertical surfaces like the side of your RV or boat hull. As it penetrates the gel coat, it dissolves minerals so that surface water spots disappear.
In addition to removing minerals and water spots, Meguiar’s #47 Hard Water Spot Remover will protect the surface from future spots with a slick, repellant coating. This coating is not enough to completely shield the fiberglass; be sure to apply a marine wax for the best protection.
If you have water spots that are already etched into the gel coat, use Meguiar’s #45 Marine/RV Polish to remove these imperfections. Hard Water Spot Remover will remove fresh mineral deposits to prevent permanent spots, but it contains no abrasives to deal with already-etched spots. Once you’ve pre-cleaned the gel coat, always apply a coat of wax, like Meguiar’s Flagship Premium Marine Wax, to protect the surface from contamination.
Apply #47 Hard Water Spot Remover using a polishing pad on your Porter Cable 7424 for the most efficient results. Work in small sections at a low speed. When the product starts to dry, stop polishing and buff away the residue with a soft microfiber towel. When you are finished polishing, toss your used pads and towels into a mixture of DP Polishing Pad Rejuvenator and water. The strong citrus cleaner will release polish from the foam and microfiber to restore the texture and prolong the life of your detailing tools.
