Blackfire Scratch Resistant Clear Compound

Versatile paint correcting compound for scratch-resistant clear coats, regular clear coats, and single stage finishes!

BLACKFIRE Scratch Resistant Clear Compound is the first step in creating a head-turning shine! It was developed for OEM applications using the latest German paint care technology. SRC Compound removes up to 2000 grit sanding scratches on fresh paint and an impressive range of imperfections from cured paint finishes.

This is a companion product to BLACKFIRE SRC Finishing Polish designed to remove deeper (1500 - 2000 grit) swirls, scratches and defects in ceramic particle and scratch-resistant clear coats.

BLACKFIRE SRC Compound is designed for machine application with either a dual action or rotary/circular machine polisher. Most 2000 grit and deeper swirls, scratches, spots and defects in ceramic particle and scratch-resistant clear coats cannot be removed by hand. BLACKFIRE SRC Compound provides the cutting ability needed to level imperfections in all types of paint.

For the best results, apply SRC Compound with a circular polisher set to 1000 RPM using a CCS Orange Light Cutting Pad. These German orange pads are used at the OEM level on ceramic particle and scratch-resistant clear coats.

After compounding, the surface may have a dull, hazy finish. This is called compounding haze and is a normal result of compounding. After compounding, use BLACKFIRE SRC Finishing Polish with a clean polishing pad to remove compounding haze and restore surface gloss.

Flawless paint starts with BLACKFIRE Scratch Resistant Clear Compound.

Application with an orbital machine polisher:

  1. Work on areas of 3 to 6 sq. ft., (1/2 of the hood), out of direct sunlight.
  2. Apply using a Lake Country CCS Orange Foam Light Cutting Pad.
  3. Mist pad once with Foam Pad Lubricant or water.
  4. Apply an X line of polish on the pad (dot technique pictured can be used to reload the pad).
  5. Using the foam pad, spread polish over the surface with the machine off. (This coats both the pad and the surface with polish.)
  6. If using the FLEX XC3401 VRG polisher, set the speed control between 4 and 5.
  7. Place foam pad on the paint and turn the polisher on.
  8. Work over the surface in an overlapping back and forth motion until polish starts to turn clear.
  9. Buff off residue by hand using a Cobra Microfiber Towel.

Application with a circular polisher:

  2. Apply using a Lake Country CCS Orange Light Cutting Pad.
  3. Mist pad once with Foam Pad Lubricant or water.
  4. Apply two, 8 inch lines of polish on the paint.
