Instructions
Each 3-Step 3M™ Paint Restoration System is color-coded, and provides the liquids and pads necessary to use a 6 inch orbital sander or polisher. What’s more is that 3M™ also includes the 3M™ Scratch Eraser Pad that can be used before the 3M™ Scratch Remover Plus in Step 1.
Each 3M™ Paint Restoration System contains:
1 3M™ Scratch Eraser Pad
Now you can tackle light scratches by hand with the Scratch Eraser Pad. Please understand that this pad will indeed leave the area hazy. The next step would be to remove the haze.
1 Polisher Attachment Piece
The Polisher Attachment Piece is included just in case you have a polisher that does not have hook and loop fasteners on the backing plate.
Step 1
8 oz. 3M Scratch Remover Plus
You will find that 3M™ Scratch Remover is an effective way to remove scratches, swirls, and medium oxidation by hand or by machine. You can use the 3M™ Scratch Remover Plus on clear-coat or single-stage paintwork with exceptional results! The 3M™ Scratch Remover Plus makes good use of fine minerals to actually remove the scratch, rather than filling it in.
3M Yellow 6 Inch Foam Pad
The right tool for the job. The dense foam in the Yellow 6 Inch Foam Pad will ensure the best results possible with the 3M™ Scratch Remover Plus in removing paint imperfections.
Step 2
8 oz. 3M Shine Restorer
The next step in this unique system includes the 3M™ Shine Restorer. This very fine grit polish will effectively refines the paintwork to improve gloss.
3M Blue 6 Inch Foam Pad
Again, the right tool for the job! The Blue 6 Inch Foam Pad is perfect for polishing the paint to a high gloss. This pad is just right for use with the 3M™ Shine Restorer to remove very fine imperfections and restore a deep, flawless shine.
Step 3
8 oz. 3M Synthetic Wax Protectant
Then next step is to apply the 3M™ Synthetic Wax Protectant at the end of the process in order to protect the paintwork, and maintain the glossy finish.
3M White 6 Inch Foam Pad
The right tool for this job is the White 6 Inch Foam Pad. This soft white finishing pad will apply an even coat of 3M™ Synthetic Wax Protectant. This pad gentle and nonabrasive on all finishes.
The 3M™ Paint Restoration System is designed for all-inclusive paint restoration and polishing. The 6 inch pads provided are ideal for detailing the whole vehicle. If necessary, you may wish to consider the 3M™ Scratch Removal Systems 39071 that does include smaller pads for isolated scratches.
