3M Marine Rubbing Compound is easy to use with a polisher. It stays wet to provide a long working time, and the compound is easy to spread and dusts less, resulting in less clean-up. Use a random orbital polisher, like the FLEX XC 3401 VRG Orbital Polisher, for even, fast application. A light cutting foam pad will help eliminate heavy oxidation. Severe cases of oxidation may require a cutting pad. Use a Cobra Microfiber Detailing Cloth to buff the area clean. 3M Marine Rubbing Compound can also be applied by hand for spot polishing or all-over restoration.
3M Marine Rubbing Compound is a true polish with no wax or fillers. Because it is a strong compound, a finishing polish may be needed to restore optimal gloss. Use 3M Marine Finesse-It II Glaze to remove compounding swirls and restore a deep gloss to fiberglass. Then apply 3M Marine Liquid Wax for protection and lasting shine.
