You will find that some marine waxes just sit on top of the paint and cannot provide any long-term durability in salt water. 3M™ Marine Ultra Performance Paste Wax is specifically engineered for the fresh and salt water environments. 3M™ Marine Ultra Performance Paste Wax will bond with the paintwork to guard against algae, UV rays, and contaminants. 3M™ Marine Ultra Performance Paste Wax will provide a deep, wet-looking shine that really lasts. 3M™ Marine Ultra Performance Paste Wax leaves a protective high-gloss coating on fiberglass, gel-coat, marine topside paints, painted aluminum, and metal.
You can apply 3M™ Marine Ultra Performance Paste Wax much in the same manner as applying car wax; simply use a soft foam applicator pad. If you are applying to large sections such as the hull, you may opt to use a machine polisher for fast, even coverage. We recommend trying the Porter Cable 7424 Dual Action Polisher. Buff out with a clean microfiber towel, and enjoy.
Waxing your boat will not only make it look great, surfaces treated with 3M™ Marine Ultra Performance Paste Wax will stay cleaner longer. What’s more is that the wax will reduce drag in the water, helping with fuel economy. Regular washing and quick detailing will be easier and produce better results. A second coat may be applied after roughly 3 months for additional protection. However, make sure to thorough clean the area first with a detergent that will not strip the first coat of wax. You may find the shine will last for longer than you expect!
