Removing scratches and swirl marks in hard, scratch-resistant finishes requires a new breed of compound. 3M Perfect- It 3000 Rubbing Compound removes 1200 grit sanding scratches and other imperfections from all paint finishes, including modern, hard clear coats.
3M Perfect- It 3000 Rubbing Compound is 3M’s most versatile compound because you can use it with or without a buffer and it will work on a variety of problems. Used properly, it is safe on all solid, metallic and clear coat finishes. The super-fine abrasive smoothes out rough edges and levels the surface of the paint. Apply the compound using a 3M Perfect-It Plus Foam Compounding Pad on your rotary buffer for the best results. Work in a circular motion. When the compound is dry, buff it off with a clean towel. Follow with 3M Perfect- It Machine Polish to further refine the paint. Then seal your finish with a quality wax.
This is a professional grade product and should be used with a rotary polisher. Though it is safe on all finishes, 3M's special abrasives are designed to successfully correct hard, low-VOC paints better than a traditional compound, yet the finish is easily buffed to a deep shine.
