Tires are invariably difficult to dress because of their close proximity to the ground. Rain and airborne pollution fall down onto the tires while mud, salt, and tar assault the tires from underneath. Contamination attacks your vehicle’s tires from all sides! Considering what tires go through on a daily basis, it’s understandable that most tire dressings fall short of the kind of longevity you’d prefer. One of the few exceptions to the rule is DP Gloss Tire Gel.
This is one tire dressing that will meet all your expectations. It creates a deep black gloss that actually lasts for weeks longer than the average dressing. With most tire dressings, you can only expect four or five days of shine before you have to apply again. DP Gloss Tire Gel will last two weeks in average conditions, though some customers have reported three weeks of rich, black rubber. Factors like weather, washing, and frequency of driving do affect the longevity of tire dressings, but even in the worst conditions, DP Gloss Tire Gel outlasts the competition.
The secret is absorption. DP Gloss Tire Gel doesn’t sit on top of the rubber. It penetrates deep below the surface to hydrate and refresh dull, dry rubber. The gel actually cures to the rubber to create a long-lasting finish that resists sling-off. Because the gel is within the rubber, it does not rinse off in the rain and it even lasts through a wash or two. When applying DP Gloss Tire Gel, it is necessary to allow the gel to cure to the rubber for 30 minutes before driving or applying another coat. Do not allow the gel to pool around raised letters or around the edge of the wheel. Thin, even coats will prevent sling-off and allow for optimum longevity. If overspray occurs, simply wipe it off. This water-based gel will not affect the clear coat of painted surfaces.
The finish created by Gloss Tire Gel is a deep, black shine that looks beautiful next to freshly detailed paint. The tire will look wet but it will feel bone dry to the touch once the gel has cured. The wet gloss finish is not sticky and it will not attract dirt. If you prefer a less shiny finish, just wipe the tire with a damp sponge or towel to create a matte finish. If you like your tires even glossier, allow the first coat to cure for 30 minutes and then apply a second coat. To Use:
- Clean the wheels and tires thoroughly with DP Gel Wheel Cleaner. Make sure the tires are dry before applying tire dressing.
- Pour a nickel size amount of DP Gloss Tire Gel onto a Cobra Tire Dressing Applicator. Apply a thin coat to each tire.
- Allow it to cure for 30 minutes before applying additional coats or driving.
